Visa Changes, UK Introduces New Application Process

Visa Changes UK Introduces New Application Process for Kenya and Other Regionsrnment will switch from TLScontact to VFS Global for visa printing between September 2024 and January 2025. This transition will impact areas in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia.

In Kenya, the process will begin with TLScontact and end with VFS Global. The UK High Commission in Nairobi encourages applicants to carefully follow instructions sent via email from both providers. These emails will outline the necessary steps to complete the application.

Moreover, the commission advises applicants to check their junk mail regularly for important updates. Visa interviews will continue as scheduled, but if rescheduling is necessary, applicants will need to pay the mandatory user pay (MUP) fee again. A refund for the initial payment can be requested from TLScontact. However, visa processing times will remain unchanged.

Public reactions to the changes vary. While some are concerned about potential delays or confusion, others view the updates as a positive step. The UK High Commission assures applicants of a smooth transition, promising full support throughout the process.

These updates reflect the UK’s broader efforts to strengthen ties with Kenya and other regions. UK High Commissioner to Kenya, Neil Wigan, emphasizes the importance of efficient visa systems and solid bilateral relations
