Trump and Other Presidential Candidates Hit the Campaign Road

Trump and Other Presidential Candidates Hit the Campaign Road

Republican candidate Donald Trump plans to visit North Carolina on Monday. His supporters worry that Storm Helene’s damage may hurt voter turnout in the conservative mountain areas. Meanwhile, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris will campaign in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. She will join former Republican legislator Liz Cheney, who warns that Trump is a threat to democracy.

Harris aims to attract Republican voters who fear Trump’s return to the White House after his chaotic presidency from 2017 to 2021. Polls show a tight race, so both candidates are increasing their campaigning efforts. Election Day is just over two weeks away on November 5.

On Sunday, Trump visited a closed McDonald’s in suburban Philadelphia. He wore an apron and cooked potatoes but avoided questions about supporting a wage increase for fast-food workers.

On Monday, Trump will go to Asheville, North Carolina. The city suffered severe damage from Storm Helene, which caused flooding and destroyed roads and homes. Trump wants to assess the storm damage and show support for the residents. He has also planned two more campaign stops in North Carolina for that day.
