Expression of Stress

Stress is defined as a state of worry or mental tension in difficult situation. It is a natural human response that prompts us to address challenges and threats in our lives. Everyone experiences stress to some degree. The way we respond to it, however, makes a big difference to our overall well-being. It is an emotional reaction occurring in the presence of certain stimuli (stressing situations). Hence trigger the body’s coping mechanisms to face the new circumstance. Stress is not, however, necessarily, always a negative phenomenon!

Anxiety on the other hand is an excessive level of stimulation of the central nervous system that triggers normal functions. Which is certain characteristic symptoms, such as sweating, restlessness, and palpitations. It is a feeling of fear, dread, and uneasiness. It appears as a response to potentially dangerous stimuli (threats) or stimuli demanding. Significantly levels of concentration (for example, academic or other types of examinations).

Stress and anxiety are the clearest examples of how our mind influences our body and vice versa. Why should we deal with them? It is because they are like two sides of a coin, anxiety being the psychological side of stress and stress being the bodily aspect of anxiety.

The boundaries between the two are not always clearly define. This is because there is such a close connection between them, or because both terms are frequently used interchangeably, and thus confusing them in the popular mind. In fact, anxiety is a clinical manifestation that appears as a reaction to acute, and less so in chronic stress. Anxiety is a disease with a set of symptoms of another disease.
