President Ruto Nominates 11 Cabinet Secretaries. Following weeks of youth-led anti-government rallies, President William Ruto made a national address statement on July 19, 2024, appointing the first group of Cabinet Secretaries to succeed those he dismissed.
During a press conference at the State House on Friday, the President stated that the 11 nominations, which included the Attorney General, these were result of discussions with political leaders from all parties in an effort to restore order and peace to the nation.
On the other hand, Prof. Kithure Kindiki is the sole former CS on the list; the other six have since returned to their previous ministries.
The nominees of the 11 CSs and their titles are as follows;
Prof. Kithure Kindiki is the Minister of the Interior and National Administration.
Health Ministry – Dr. Debra Mulonga Barasa
Alice Wahome is the Minister of Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development.
Julius Migosi Ogamba is the Minister of Education.
Defense Ministry – Aden Bare Dr. Andrew Mwihia Karanja is the Duale Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development.
Roselinda Soipan Tuiya is the Minister of Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry.
Eric Muriithi Muuga is the Minister of Water, Sanitation, and Irrigation.
Davis Chirchir, Minister of Roads and Transport
Margaret Nyambura Ndung’u is the Minister of Information, Communication, and the Digital Economy. Rebecca Miano is the Attorney-General. President Ruto Nominates 11 Cabinet Secretaries.
