and Hamas to continue their cease-fire negotiations
The leaders of Egypt, Qatar, and the United States have urged Israel and Hamas to return to negotiations next week in Cairo or Doha to work out differences over a possible cease-fire and agreement to free the hostages.

The warring parties were invited to restart talks on August 15 by the three mediators, who jointly issued a statement stating that a framework agreement was “now on the table, with only the details of implementation missing.”

The declaration, which was signed by US President Joe Biden, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi, and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, stated, “There is no further time to waste nor excuses from any party for further delay.”
“It’s time to wrap things up a cease-fire agreement and release hostages and prisoners,” the statement added.

Israel estimates that around 130 hostages are still in Hamas captivity.
