KPLC planned power cuts, Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) announced planned power cuts. KPLC planned power cuts, is in three counties tomorrow, Sunday, June 2, 2024, its engineers to carry out scheduled maintenance of electricity networks.

The three counties are Nairobi, Uasin Gishu and Kakamega. Where hundreds of customers in its areas of Mumias town, Shibale, Ekero, St Peter Boys, St Mary Hospital and Mumias Sugar plunged into darkness from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

In Nairobi County, KPLC Planned Power Cuts the planned power interruption affects Inland Container Deport (ICD). Additionally,Kyang’ombe, Heavy Engineering, Tile & Carpet, Kings, Atlantis Business Park, Walstreet Business Park and Powergen Renewable Energy. Vimit Converters, Sanden Intercool (K), Enyon Ltd, Hasbah Kenya, Pilitrade Centre, Posh Autobody, Jumbo Chem and Alpha Centre. Its advisable for people within the mention areas to be aware to ensure they are not affected unknowingly. KPLC also gave the notify on their social media accounts. KPLC recently experiencing black out problem. Besides, the outage disrupted several services, including the main airport in the capital, Nairobi, where two terminals were without power for several hours.

Many Kenyans have demanded answers, as anger and frustration mounts over the recurring power disruptions.

Transport Minister Kipchumba Murkomen

The CS criticised for the time it took to restore power at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Sunday.  However, the CS has asked police to investigate the possibility that the recurrent power outages were sabotage.

“Considering the frequency of the power disruption, and taking into account the fact that JKIA is a facility of strategic national importance, we are making a formal request to the National Police Service to investigate possible acts of sabotage and coverup,” he posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

After Kenya suffered its longest countrywide power outage in recent years in August, Mr Murkomen pledged that a power outage at the airport would “not happen again”.
