As she sets out on a tour of important battleground states, US Vice President Kamala Harris announced her running companion. As the presidential candidate for the Democratic Party, this choice marks her first significant action.
The 60-year-old teacher and former member of the US Army National Guard Walz has recently gained more notoriety by calling Trump and Vance “weird.” The Harris campaign has welcomed the remark that went viral.
Additionally, Walz is a fervent advocate for labor unions, which play a significant role in the Democratic Party’s electoral coalition. President Joe Biden and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi allegedly supported Walz as Harris’s choice for vice president.
By selecting Walz, Harris hopes to increase her appeal to Midwest working-class and rural voters, who could support her against Donald Trump in November’s general election. Additionally, Walz’s passions for football, hunting, fishing, and conservation. Hence may help draw in supporters from more rural parts of the US.

Delegates to the Democratic National Convention concluded a five-day online voting period on Monday, making the nomination official.
