Friends and family of Keith Siegel cheered as they watched his first images after Hamas released him. The emotional moment happened on Saturday morning at Kibbutz Gezer. A dozen friends and community members gathered at his brother’s home.
Siegel stepped out of the car as the Red Cross took him in Gaza City. The room erupted in cheers and applause. “He’s out, he’s out!” his friends shouted. Some hugged, while others cried with joy. They thanked God as months of anguish finally ended.
More kibbutz members soon arrived with cakes and congratulations. The atmosphere filled with relief and celebration.
Hamas abducted Siegel from his home in Kibbutz Kfar Aza on October 7, 2023. His wife, Aviva, was also taken. She gained freedom in November 2023 during a brief ceasefire.
His release brought joy to his loved ones, who suffered months of uncertainty. However, many families still wait for their missing relatives as the conflict continues.
