Israeli protesters and hostage families demand an immediate ceasefire with Hamas. They seek the release of the remaining hostages after Israel discovered the bodies of six kidnapped individuals. In Jerusalem, protesters rallied outside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence, displaying signs of the deceased hostages. Daria Giladi from Jerusalem wept as she urged for a swift resolution. In Tel Aviv, relatives of the 101 hostages still on hold by Hamas also pressed for a deal.
Liron Berman, whose twin siblings are among the hostages, stressed the urgency of the situation.
The military reported finding the six hostages in a southern Gaza tunnel, killed just before Israeli troops arrived. The Hostage Families Forum demands Netanyahu explain the delay in reaching an agreement. Facing nearly 11 months of conflict, Netanyahu vowed Israel would not rest until it captured those responsible. Hamas officials blame Israel’s refusal to sign a ceasefire for the hostages’ deaths. The recovered bodies were part of about 250 hostages taken during the Hamas attack on October 7 last year.
Currently, 101 captives remain in Gaza, with about a third confirmed dead and the fate of the others unknown.
