Houthi Missile Reaches Central Israel for the First Time

A Houthi missile struck central Israel for the first time on Sunday. Prime Minister Netanyahu promised severe retaliation. The missile, fired from northern Yemen, covered 2,040 km in 11.5 minutes. Houthi spokesman Yahya Sarea confirmed the strike.

Israel’s military initially reported the missile landing in an open area. Later, they stated it likely broke apart in the air. Fragments landed near a railway station. No one suffered injuries, but air raid sirens forced residents to seek shelter. Loud booms shook the area, and smoke rose from a field.

Netanyahu pledged a “heavy price” for the attack. He referred to an earlier airstrike on Hodeida port in July. The Houthis have carried out several attacks to support Palestinians since October.
