In a recent CNN interview, Vice President Kamala Harris discussed her plans for the first day of her presidency. She did not provide many details.
Harris, now the Democratic front-runner, mentioned having several priorities but kept specifics unclear. She believes Americans want change after former President Donald Trump.
Harris told CNN’s Dana Bash that voters are ready for a new direction. She said people want to move beyond the previous administration’s divisive policies.
Harris highlighted that her top priority is to support the middle class. She plans to lower everyday costs, aid small businesses, and invest in families. She aims to build an opportunity economy.
Her proposals include extending the child tax credit to $6,000 for families in the child’s first year. This would help with costs like car seats and baby clothes. She also plans a $25,000 tax credit for first-time homebuyers to make homeownership more affordable.
This interview was her first since becoming the lead Democratic candidate. It showed Harris broad goals but lacked specific details about her initial actions in office.
