A fire erupted at Bed Palace, a well-known furniture store in Kasarani. This happened during mid-morning, quickly destroying the shop and causing major damage. Witnesses reported that the fire ignited suddenly and spread rapidly through the store. As the flames grew, they also reached nearby businesses, sparking panic among local shop owners and residents.
Social media videos captured the chaos, with residents trying to save items from neighboring shops as thick smoke filled the area. Despite the quick response from the Kenya Red Cross and other emergency services, the fire continued to threaten surrounding buildings. The incident has also caused delay of activities around the area.
The exact cause of the fire is still unknown, and an investigation is in progress. This incident is particularly troubling as it marks the second fire at Bed Palace in less than a year, with the previous blaze occurring on December 8 of the last year and causing substantial damage. During the December incident, the fire reportedly broke out at noon, destroying property of unknown value. The community is concerned and waiting for more information.
