A concerned mother alerted Apalachee High School after receiving a troubling text from her son, Colt Gray. The 14-year-old’s message simply read, “I’m sorry, mom.” Worried, Marcee Gray immediately contacted the school counselor, hoping to prevent any harm. Unfortunately, a shooting occurred at the school shortly afterward.
Authorities have accused Colt Gray of killing four people, including two students and two teachers. Due to the severity of the crime, they decided to try him as an adult. This decision has deeply shocked the small Georgia community.
Meanwhile, survivors of the shooting are now sharing their stories. They speak of bravery and resilience, though many struggle to comprehend the tragedy. The victims are remembered as cherished friends and beloved teachers and mentors.
Furthermore, Colt’s father, Colin Gray, also faces serious charges. He allegedly provided the gun used in the shooting, fully aware that his son posed a potential threat. At this point, neither the father nor son has entered a plea in court.
In response to the tragedy, the community is setting up a recovery center. This center will offer much-needed support to those affected. It will provide legal services, financial assistance, and mental health care for grieving families and survivors.
